Men's Conference

Friday, May 4rd - Saturday, May 5th
$40 per person

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:1-2

This passage likens the Christian life to a race. In this race we are going to get tired, face distractions, be weighed down, and be tempted to throw in the towel. But the writer of Hebrews exhorts us to "run with endurance the race that is set before us." As most of you know, this is not easy. Thankfully, we aren't called to run alone. We are reminded in this passage that there are those that have gone before us and there are those that God has called to run with us. As men, we often look to our own strength to overcome the struggles of sin, discouragement and temptation, instead of leaning on each other and finding support in the community of brothers God has provided for us. We are also told that our motivation should not be found in personal accolades, achievements or rewards, but Jesus Himself! It was Jesus that ran His race well so that we could experience the glory of life with Him. This year our conference theme is "Let us Run." Our prayer is that you would come away from this conference with a renewed strength and passion to run the race that God has set before you. We hope you can join us, as we seek to set our eyes on Jesus, the one who fought the battle and has won the victory for us!

We are excited to have Pastor Robby Gallaty from Longhollow Baptist Church be our guest speaker. Robby is a gifted Bible teacher, author, and church leader (view his bio below). We are thrilled to have him join us this year! We will also be enjoying times of worship led by the Calvary Monterey band, as well as eating good food and having time for fellowship and hanging out together.

This year is going to powerful! You are not going to want to miss it. Also, invite your friends and let them know about this great opportunity to be equipped and encouraged.

We hope you can make it!
Grave and peace,
Calvary Monterey

For three years, Robby battled a drug addiction that ravaged his life. A $180 a day heroin and cocaine addiction forced him to steal $15,000 from his parents. After living without gas, electricity, and water for months, losing 8 of his friends to drug related deaths, watching 6 friends get arrested, and completing two rehab treatments, Robby remembered the gospel that was shared with him by a friend in college and was radically saved on November 12, 2002.

Eight months later, David Platt, a seminary student and church member at the time, asked Robby to meet weekly for accountability, prayer, and Bible study. For the next 2 years, David instilled a passion for missions, expository preaching, and disciple-making in his life. He also encouraged Robby to go back to school to pursue theological education.
Robby completed his Masters of Divinity Degree in Expository Preaching in 2007 and his Ph.D. in Preaching in 2011 from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Today, Robby’s gospel conviction and evangelistic zeal drive him to passionately “make disciples who make disciples.”

In addition to his leadership at Long Hollow, Robby is also the founder of Replicate Ministries and the author of several books, including Growing UpFirmly Planted, and Rediscovering Discipleship.
