Community Outreach

If you have a heart to see Jesus Famous in our community through extending God’s love to the vulnerable, you’re invited to participate. No experience required!

Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for such belongs the kingdom of heaven.
— Matthew 19:14

We desire to see Calvary Monterey involved with the vulnerable in our community through mercy ministry and strategic partnerships with community agencies and churches. To see Jesus Famous through mobilizing our congregation to care about our community and extend service and love without expectation.

Cherish Boxes are a great way to bless every child and youth that enters into foster care in Monterey County.

God has brought many opportunities to us to make this happen. We have started a ministry called Cherish Boxes that provides a box filled with fun activities and basic necessities to a child the moment they enter foster care in Monterey County. We are praying for a generation of new foster families to be raised up from within our church body and seek to support them along their journey. We hold annual events to bless and equip youth in the foster care system such our Christmas Ornament Outreach and Depart Smart, a one-day event to equip and encourage children who are about to age out of the system.

We have an on-site food pantry available to our church body as well as any family in the foster care system. We are also working to develop a partnership with the YWCA and their efforts to combat human-trafficking in Monterey County.

We invite you to join us in our efforts. Contact our Outreach Coordinator, Anne, for information on how you can extend mercy to our community (anne@calvary.com).

We desire to see bible-teaching, spirit-led churches planted throughout our region and the world as we focus on discipling and training men who are working out their calling toward planting churches. Our mission is to bring men with pastoral church-planting hearts under the wisdom and teaching of Calvary Monterey leadership for a season of equipping through teaching and hands-on experience with the goal of being sent out.

Rather than a traditional class-based model, we will utilize an immersion-based curriculum to equip men for the planting of new churches.

Our curriculum will build on previous traditional, foundational Bible-based study that each member of the program should have already obtained. Exceptions may be made in rare circumstances for equivalent ministry experience.

This stone, which I have set up as a pillar, will be God’s house, and of all that You give me I will surely give a tenth to You.
— Genesis 28:22
